Bearings

Have been able to track down the required bearings for the engine locally :-)
2x crankcase bearings = RMS9
Mainshaft bearing = RLS6
High gear bearing = 1654 (this was a tricky one - not a STD. RLS9)

Book: Triumph Motorcycle Restoration : Pre-Unit

Received a book on Pre-unit restoration - it has great pictures of an almost step by step process for the major components. Also some very good tips along the way. It sets a great benchmark for what can be done on a tiger.

Some interesting facts.

Stumbled upon a write up on the history of Triumph bikes today thought this was interesting:

"The "Tiger 110" was introduced in 1954, featuring the newly developed "swing arm" rear suspension system. Perhaps no single model defines the Triumph brand more than that of the "Bonneville," or "Bonnie" as it came to be known. The evolution of the Bonneville began with the introduction of the Tiger 110 in 1954."

And of course  some inspiring engine pics. - what the 650 should end up like!
