Dismantling Wheels to free the HUBS!!!!
Started to dismantle the old wheels to get the hubs out, so these can be re-painted and be ready for assembly in the new rims. After taking some carefull photos so that the lacing pattern can easily be identitied I managed to unscrew most of the spokes - only one or two needed to be sawn thru to release the hub. The front wheel still had its old tyre on and this had to be sawn off so I could get to the nipples to unscrew. All going well so far.

Rims and Spokes
Stainless steel rims, spokes and nipples arrived this week. Thanx to Len from British Classics in the Cape. The workmanship is very good and we are impressed by the quality. New bearings also arrived in the parcel. So now we have all the wheel parts. Now need to cut the old hubs free and re-paint them.

Tyres & Tubes
The tyres have arrived, sourced them from BRISTISH BIKE SPARES - Mike- in Benoni. They are both 19" in size. the rear being 3.50 Dunlop K70 tyre, and the front is a 3.25 Kings ribbed. Slowly getting all the wheel parts sourced. :-)

Steering Damper Knob
Steering damper knob is in quite a bad condition - tried some brushing and polishing - brought out some bling in it!

Wheels
Started looking at the wheels - they are an important part of getting to a rolling chassis!
Generally just very rusted, but fortunately still in tacked so measurements can be taken
before dismantling them. Took the rear bearings out - they are a bit "warn through".
